About the client

Arsenal Insurance has been a leader in the Ukrainian insurance market for over 20 years, serving both corporate and individual clients with a wide range of insurance products. As customer needs evolved, the company sought more convenient and efficient digital solutions.

The previous system for managing medical policies had become too complicated for users, leading to navigation issues and challenges in filing claims. In response, Arsenal Insurance decided to undergo a digital transformation, aiming to enhance its medical insurance platform to improve user experience and streamline customer interactions.

Brights was chosen as the technology partner for this project due to our experience in developing solutions for the insurance industry, marking the start of our collaboration on the new medical insurance app.

Project objectives

Before the app’s launch, all medical insurance processes were handled through phone or email communication, causing delays, inefficiencies, and a lack of transparency. Users spent a lot of time waiting for responses and processing claims.

The main goal of the project was to digitize these operations and create a user-friendly tool for managing medical insurance policies with ease. The app needed to:

  • Simplify navigation within the insurance platform;

  • Enable quick submission of claims and immediate access to medical services via the app;

  • Facilitate easier management of medical services for Arsenal Insurance's team, with the ability to scale and add new features as needed.

Research and insights

Digitizing the entire process
Since Arsenal Insurance’s clients previously had no online access to insurance services, our primary task was to design a step-by-step process for submitting claims and requesting medical assistance in just a few clicks.

Supporting users at every step
We discovered that insurance-related processes often raised questions and confused users. Therefore, we found it important to include support features at every stage, allowing users to seek help whenever needed.

User scenarios

To enhance user experience, we designed several key interaction scenarios, such as online appointment booking and claims submission, complete with notifications about claim statuses.

Hi-Fi prototype

During the Hi-Fi prototyping stage, we developed a detailed version of the app that closely resembled the final product. The prototype included all core features, such as submitting requests for medical services, processing insurance claims, and a notification system integration. We focused on intuitive navigation and ease of use to ensure a seamless user experience. Testing real-world scenarios allowed us to gather feedback and make final improvements before launch.

Our solutions

User-friendly navigation
We created a modern, easy-to-use UI/UX design that combines aesthetics with functionality. The interface offers quick access to key features like claim submissions, appointment booking, and accessing medical assistance via online chat or emergency services.

Appointment booking
The appointment booking feature was designed with convenience and speed in mind. Users can choose clinics on a map, view available appointment dates and hours, and receive real-time confirmation. During the booking process, an administrator offers recommendations based on symptoms, helping users select the right specialist.

Medical expense reimbursement
Submitting reimbursement claims is another crucial feature, simplifying the process of receiving financial assistance for users. The app allows users to upload medical documents, fill in necessary fields, and track claim statuses in real time. Clear instructions at each step ensure transparency and efficiency.

AI integration
An innovative AI feature helps users understand their symptoms better and automatically suggests booking an appointment with a suitable doctor. This functionality ensures a personalized approach and saves time for users when seeking medical care.

Arsenal Insurance website

Our work with Arsenal Insurance actually began with optimizing their website. Brights created a streamlined, user-friendly interface that makes it easy for visitors to find information on different types of insurance quickly and intuitively. Our design process focused on accessibility and ease of use, ensuring a smooth experience for both first-time visitors and loyal customers. After this successful collaboration, we expanded our efforts to develop a mobile app.
