About the project
Overseeing agricultural operations can become a maze of inefficiency when departments are stuck using isolated tools and mismatched workflows. That was the issue our clients faced. As an integrated agri-management system, OnTrack had evolved through continuous, user-driven updates, but this approach introduced complexity and fragmentation. Initially, the client tried to address these issues by adding features individually, but this only deepened usability challenges.
Recognizing the need for a holistic solution, OnTrack turned to Brights. As a result, we redesigned the system with a cohesive UX across 12 modules, preserving familiar workflows to enhance productivity and streamline operations.

Research insights
First things first, we had to dig deep to understand OnTrack’s underlying problems. We uncovered the core issues users faced daily by conducting 18 user interviews and a competitive UX analysis. Fragmentation and navigation complexity stood out as the biggest hurdles, making it difficult for users to access and interpret data efficiently. Analysis of leading agri-management systems like Cropio and AgriChain highlighted trends in modular data views and personalized workflows, emphasizing the need for flexible, user-centric design.
Armed with these insights, we embarked on a mission to redesign OnTrack, creating structured and intuitive solutions that cater to each department's unique needs. As a result, we delivered a unified platform that integrates seamlessly into daily operations, ensuring a more accessible and efficient experience for users.

The final concept for OnTrack centers on a unified, modular design that balances simplicity and customization. It emerged from both critical analysis and research-driven insights. User interviews and competitor benchmarking made it clear that seamless navigation and flexible data views were essential to solving OnTrack’s fragmentation issues.
An “aha” moment came when users consistently voiced frustration with switching between modules, emphasizing the need for a more cohesive experience without breaking their workflows. This insight led us to prioritize a design that integrates all 12 modules under a single, intuitive UX while allowing customization for each department’s specific tasks.
Additionally, competitor research highlighted a trend toward visual data formats, underscoring the importance of providing multiple display options (tables, charts, maps, etc.) for diverse analytical needs. These insights shaped a design that enables users to view and analyze data in the way that best supports their goals — transforming OnTrack into a flexible, scalable solution that aligns with day-to-day operations.
Designing OnTrack
The OnTrack design process included several key stages, each aimed at creating a cohesive and intuitive interface.
UX research, during which we conducted 18 user interviews and competitor analysis to identify core user needs and pain points;
Low-fidelity (Low-Fi) prototype, where over the course of 12 days, Brights developed 56 screens, focusing on navigation and foundational structure;
High-fidelity (Hi-Fi) prototype with over 780 screens completed in 4 months, incorporating personalized workspaces and multi-layer data views;
Over 530 interface screens customized for each module;
A comprehensive UI Kit and a Brandbook to ensure a unified visual language and consistent brand identity for the platforms.

Our solutions
Unified modular system
OnTrack consolidates 12 essential modules (e.g., fleet management, asset tracking, crop monitoring) into one integrated platform. Each module provides department-specific data while allowing users to easily switch between functions, supporting seamless cross-departmental workflows without leaving the interface.
Customizable workspaces (the “Preset” system)
Each user can create a personalized workspace, selecting preferred data views, tools, and shortcuts that match their daily tasks. This feature tailors the experience to individual roles, making it easy for users to quickly access the functions they rely on, improving efficiency and engagement.
Multi-format data visualization
OnTrack’s flexibility in data views is a standout. Users can choose from four main data display options — table, map, chart, and calendar — and eight specialized views, including dashboards, timelines, and comparison matrices. This variety allows users to analyze data in the most relevant format, adapting easily to different analytical needs.

Real-time data sync and collaboration
The OnTrack system syncs field data and office-based inputs in real time, promoting coordinated decision-making. Managers and field agents can update and access current information instantly, facilitating responsive planning and on-the-ground adjustments, enhancing productivity, and reducing delays.
Advanced data layering
Users can overlay up to 12 data layers (e.g., crop health, equipment status, resource allocation) in different formats. This flexibility enables deeper, multidimensional analysis within the same view, helping users gain comprehensive insights and make data-driven decisions on the spot.
